Thank you for visiting my art world. I have been creating abstract art since 2006, currently from my home on the North Shore of Auckland. I distribute it locally or globally as required. Some of my available work is displayed to the public in various businesses in Auckland, in galleries when applicable, and/or on my website. I hope my art may inspire others in some way.
What inspires my art
Born in Christchurch, New Zealand I am also an Australian citizen having lived half of my adult life in Queensland, Australia and have travelled to various other countries. The combination of my journey, observations and experiences in various countries, those of my children and wider family, and others I have met on my life path and in my career outside art provide me with much of my inspiration. Examples appear in some of my work which have an apparent New Zealand theme but were created when I physically lived in Australia, and vice versa.
I create most of my work with inspiration from my subconscious, and life itself. Unless the art work is commissioned to your specific needs, although I usually like to plan each piece, very often my intuitive approach can radically change an artwork as it’s being created. So the end result may sometimes be very different to my original idea.
Mediums
I am mostly self-taught and don’t usually adhere to typical art standards and rules that some artists feel necessary to follow. Hence each work could be a very different style than others.
I paint with acrylic, often combining other mediums – some very unusual – to provide more texture when I desire.
Recognising the importance of sustainability to protect our environment, I often re-use various items in my art that may otherwise have been thrown away.
A picture tells a thousand words
Also being a writer, almost all my work has a philosophical meaning or story that is sometimes not apparent until it is completed.
It may represent a memory, my family, or a lesson I have learned travelling my own journey of life. Or if it is a commission piece, it could signify your own special event, memory or other representation.
I hope my art may inspire others in some way.
Commissions and prints
I would love to create an original for you! If you are interested in commissioning me to create your own unique artwork, just tell me a theme and/or colour tones you prefer, or perhaps only a title. Or show me a picture you would like created as abstract. I will design your painting accordingly, while tapping into my subconscious and intuition during the process.

Copyright
I will of course always consider copyright requirements so you or I don’t contravene intellectual property regulations or copyright from the owner of your picture.
Prints
Prints are also available for most of my work, on request whether the original has been sold or currently available (unless I have agreed with the purchaser not to reproduce prints of their private commission).
